Hi Denny, thanks for your comments. I don't believe it was hearsay, the Bible was written by many people that saw and testified with their own eyes. Yes, it's a collection of stories but true ones and so so relevant to life, as much now as back then.

Hi Tracy, all the info that has passed my way tells me that all the gospels were written many hundreds of years after the events portrayed. have I got this wrong?

hi dennypoos, certainly do have that wrong ... evidence shows that the earliest accounts of Jesus' life were circulating within 30 years of his death and resurrection. A coupla books which might help: 'The Bible - Fact or Fantasy?' by John Drane (Lion Publishing 1989) and also 'Who Moved the Stone?' by Frank Morison, an atheist lawyer who set out to prove the resurrection was rubbish. No serious scholar these days doubts the existence of Jesus, whose life appears in non-biblical writings by non-Christian historians of the time. There's apparently more evidence for his life than for Henry VIII - but nobody doubts Henry's existence! The real question is, is he who he says he is?

Hi Tracy,very nice and interesting debates there, but it surprises me when people doubt the reality of Jesus Christ.On the other hand its not strange because the bible says-He came to his own but his own knew him not.Maybe their faith needs to be fanned in order to be aflame so as to know him.God bless and nice weekend.
