It was lovely to be back at Church this morning. So many people have been away doing different things all over the summer, camps, beach missions, holidays etc and it was really good to catch up with folk and be together again. Still some are away though and it'll be good to catch up with them too on their return. It's wonderful to feel part of such a big family where we are all involved in each other's lives and where we miss one another if we are apart for too long. The message David preached was completely in line with what I have been reading this last month or so in the last two books I have read, and it was great to have that reinforcement from him from God's Word. It's amazing how all these things just seem to happen! I shouldn't be amazed at all really - God has it all in hand and works these things out.
Anyway, after a delicious curry for lunch John unpacked the car and we headed off later afternoon to the O2 arena for the Hillsong 10 year anniversary service. A very different church anniversary service to what we are used to, with 12,000 Christians from all nationalities, a real mixed bag of people, all worshipping God together , it was an amazing sight and sound and great to be part of. I guess it was just a little glimpse of what Heaven will be like. Delirious! also came on and led some worship, we've never seen them before, we've always wanted to but I think this is their last year touring so we were pleased to have heard them perform before they hang up their guitars.
Kelly came down with some friends from Norwich so we caught up with her too, which was really lovely.
By the time we got home it was late and time for bed before work in the morning. It seems odd having to get up early to go to work after a fortnight or so but although I have had a great holiday and loved every minute I shall be very pleased to be back.
