What happened to the last 3 weeks?
Life got crazy! John returned home from France on the Thursday and we went on holiday on Sunday. Lots of friends round for dinner on Saturday and packing and everything else, like packing Kelly off to her gap year training, meant no time to blog! Still, it seemed quite strange - all four of us away in seperate places. Amy took herself over to Spain to see a friend for a few days, Kelly went to Otford Manor for her training and John and I joined Malc & Shell for a week to sunny Lefkas. What a great time, lots of sun was soaked up, along with local wine and scrumptious food, copious amounts of reading - just what we needed.
Back to work on the Monday, earlier than usual as I've reduced the number of days I work my hours over, in order to get a day off every other week. We'll see how that goes - I can always revert back if it doesn't work well. It'd just be great to get a day off every so often to go away for a long weekend or to spend time catching up at home etc. There was something on every night last week.
A few of us Street Pastors went prayer walking in town, it amazed me how different things are out and about on a Monday night compared to at the weekend. You tend see so much more and take in so much more of the surroundings and notice things you've never noticed before! It was a great time, and one where we hope that God really heard our prayers for our town, the people we meet, the youngsters, the homeless, and so many other people that we encounter each and every week. God can change circumstances and situations. He hears our prayers and we know that when the time is right - he answers them. So, we look forward to the next time we go out too.
Wednesday, was the start of a new series at the Church Bible study - a great evening, full of interaction and very encouraging. More to come too, very exciting.
Thursday night, John and I went out for a meal to catch up with each other and chill, quite an essential thing for us to do every so often.
Kelly passed her theory part of her driving test on Friday afternoon, so that was good. Friday after work Cheryl, Kelly and I headed down to Eastbourne for the Radiant '08 ladies conference where we had a fab weekend of mixing with other christians, good worship led by Lou Fellingham and Phatfish, great seminars, a nice thai meal on Saturday night and generally a fantastic weekend of fellowship with one another and others too. It's great to get away every so often and immerse yourself in great Bible teaching and hearty worship with other like-minded people. I think we all really enjoyed it. God is good!
Amongst all that, we've all been working really hard pulling together all the bits for Kelly's fundraising night this coming Saturday, she is having her 'Meal and Auction of Promises' to raise the necessary funds for Uganda. It has taken a lot of preparation but we are getting there. On top of all that too, we've been filling out forms for university bursaries and student loans and accommodation etc - life certainly isn't dull in our household at present. There is so much to do!
